I had the great pleasure to do a three day walk in the iMfolozi Wilderness area with the guide David Longmoore. It was three fantastic days and I will definitely be back to do it again. To give you a glimpse of what to expect we are publishing David’s own Bulletins from his walks in 2006. Read them and then book your own walk but be sure to do it at least 6 months in advance because they are always full.

iMfolozi Wilderness Bulletin January 2006 – April 2006
My trails for the year started with a Bushveld Trail that is the one based at Mdindini in the hot summer months. The trail group consisted of an Englishman and four of the staff from the Reservations staff at Queen Elizabeth Park, the headquarters of KZN Wildlife. They were with us to experience the format of Trails and the way in which they are conducted. iMfolozi is looking beautiful at this time of the year.
iMfolozi Wilderness Bulletin April – June 2006
April usually sees the onset of autumn in iMfolozi. The heat of the days is less intense and the evenings can be nippy around the campfire at night. But, not for us as we set off to camp at Mphafa. The day was hot and humid and we toiled up the hill to the contour path that winds its way toward the Momfu view site.
iMfolozi Wilderness Bulletin October - November 2006
The month of October in Zululand often reminds me of my boyhood days in Northern Rhodesia (Zambia). It was called the suicide month. The tropical mild winter had passed and the spring had turned rapidly into summer, but there was no rain. Days were hot and windless. People became depressed by the relentless heat and oppressive nights with no respite in the temperatures.
